Story 01 · A private relocation story
New York → Mallorca
A new family life by the Mediterranean.
The beginning
A family of five living in New York were considering a significant lifestyle change.
At the beginning, Mallorca was still an idea rather than a fixed plan.
They wanted more space, more time outdoors and a different rhythm of family life — while remaining connected internationally and maintaining their professional and financial interests.
From idea to decision
Understanding the life before choosing the property.
Before choosing a house, we needed to understand the life they wanted to build around it.
The early conversations explored why Mallorca, what kind of life they were trying to create and what would need to work for all five members of the family. KADO translated those ambitions into a practical relocation plan long before any paperwork began.

Finding their place
Portals Nous.
Its proximity to Palma, the coast, the airport, everyday services, an international community and international schooling created the balance the family needed.
KADO coordinated the home search from the initial brief through property identification, viewings, comparison and negotiation. The family ultimately purchased their home in Portals Nous.
School
Education was fundamental.
For a family with three children, the school decision could not be separated from the home. KADO helped compare Mallorca’s international-school landscape and coordinate applications and enrolment.
Agora Portals International School
Home and school were considered together as part of a workable everyday family life.
Relocation & arrival
The wider move, held together.
KADO’s role extended beyond the home itself. Where specialist regulated advice was required, KADO coordinated with appropriately qualified advisers.
Relocation planning
Residency & immigration coordination
NIE & administration
Moving & logistics
Banking & practical setup
Healthcare & insurance guidance

Everyday settling-in support
Tax & structuring
One connected transition.
Moving from the United States to Spain had financial implications beyond simply changing address. KADO coordinated appropriate specialists around:
- Spanish tax residency
- US–Spain cross-border considerations
- Personal structuring
- Property ownership considerations
- Existing business interests
- Appropriate European Union corporate structuring
The result
What began as a conversation in New York about living differently became everyday family life in Mallorca.
A home.
A school.
A community.
A new rhythm of life.
Not simply getting them to Mallorca. Helping them make Mallorca home.
